This ensemble consists of a jacket, skirt, and vest/blouse top in excellent condition! A rare opportunity to own a Chanel haute couture suit -- a most gorgeous one at that, a collector's piece -- at less than what you would pay for a new ready-to-wear version. To have a similar Chanel ensemble made, the cost typically ranges from $25,000 - $40,000! This Chanel Haute Couture suit is believed to be from the late 1970's or very early 1980's, but the style is absolutely timeless and it's sooo very Coco Chanel. The outfit was very gently worn 1 - 2x only and remains in excellent condition. The rich fantasy tweed is a mid-lighter weight wool blend so it can be worn almost year round/at least 3 of 4 seasons. The colors are a warm, neutral, and so wearable oatmeal/cream with tones of light and dark tan with a touch of brown -- very chic. The entire jacket is trimmed with 1" wide loopy poodle weave of bordeaux, navy, and cream satin -- this lovely trim also appears on the pockets and cuffs. The colors are used throughout the outfit -- on the top/vest, and the skirt. The jacket is the classic Chanel Coco signature look -- shorter style, worn open but can be closed with hidden hook & eye. The pockets and sleeve cuffs feature the most gorgeous buttons -- gold dimensionalized lion head on a scalloped navy lacquer -- 3 on each cuff, and 1 on each pocket -- all working/functional buttons. Signature Chanel chain lines the inside hem of the jacket. The matching skirt is a perfectly compliment to the jacket and lovely in its own right. A slight A-line shape with inverted center pleat, a matching button the flattering contoured waistline that is trimmed with the matching fabric as the top. It closes in the back in a more comfortable, off-center, on-seam zipper and hook/eye. The jacket and skirt are fully lined with the special 'quilted through' sewn lining in matching colored silk -- a classic Chanel Haute Couture touch that ensures a perfect drape and fit, and harmony of outer and lining fabrics. The jacket is made of 10 panels across the bodice, 5 on eacha sleeve, and the skirt is made of 10 panels as well. The coordinating vest top/blouse lovely and sexy! It is made of very soft wool blend (possibly wool/silk/cashmere?) jersey that is very stretchy and so nice against your skin in a heathered dark blue with bordeaux trim. There are 2 pockets with matching buttons and closes with 3 more buttons. A standout piece on its own right.
