Description Guatemalan huipil Purchased in Antigua, Guatemala in 1994 (vintage then) and was told it came from Chichicastenengo area (If you can tell exactly where it was from, let me know). Dark green bottom with heavily embroidered top. Gorgeous rich and deep colors. Velevet trim on squared neck. Flower motif in weave. 3 Panel Hand embroidered. Backstrap loom Photos 1-6 show item with flash and 4 & 5 are detail shots. Photo 6 shows inside back of embroidery. Photos 7-9 show it in morning daylight for color comparison Has snap on collar, snap appears to have been added later. I believe it was made in the late 1970's.
